3D scanning of a historical building in Walbrzych

3D scanning is an indispensable technology in the restoration process of historic architectural structures, offering a number of benefits to investors and restoration specialists. First and foremost, it enables the preservation of authentic architectural details, which is crucial to maintaining the integrity of a building’s historical value. In addition, 3D scanning speeds up and streamlines the planning phase, enabling precise estimation of the materials needed, which translates into efficient time and financial management. One of the main advantages of our 3D scanning services is the ability to import the point cloud into reputable design software such as Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, etc. This innovative data integration process allows for precise modeling and analysis, enabling designers and engineers to work in an environment that perfectly reflects the actual conditions of the site.

In a historic building of about 500 square meters, we took dozens of scans that captured elements of the structure from all sides.
The purpose of the 3D scan was to measure holistically and eliminate errors that often occur with manual measurements. In addition, based on the point cloud, the building was modeled in Revit. The model will serve as the basis for the construction and detailed design.
Thanks to 3D scanning, we obtained a point cloud that perfectly reflected the geometry of the building. In addition, thanks to the 360-degree images, the designer and the owner, were able to communicate more efficiently on the Matterport platform, exchanging comments.
